Concrete Sealer for Fargo-Moorhead Freeze-Thaw

Eco-friendly sealing that protects driveways and patios.

Concrete Sealer for Fargo-Moorhead Freeze-Thaw

Look at your driveway. See the little flakes and pits on the surface? That is spalling, and our Fargo-Moorhead winters cause it. Once it starts, it only gets worse.

Here is what happens. Water seeps into tiny holes in your concrete. At night it freezes and pushes outward. By day it thaws. This freeze-thaw cycle repeats all winter and slowly cracks your concrete apart. Road salt makes it worse. Salt soaks in, eats at the surface, and speeds up the damage. Oil drips and stains add to the mess.

We are B&W Outdoor Services, family-owned and veteran-owned for 60 years. We seal concrete to stop this damage before it starts. We use an eco-friendly sealer that soaks in and forms a barrier. Water beads up instead of soaking in. Salt cannot get a grip. Oil stains wipe off instead of staining deep.

Sealed concrete lasts longer and looks better. Your driveway, patio, or sidewalk resists the cracking, flaking, and staining that ruins bare concrete around here.

We clean the surface first, because sealer over dirt does not bond. Then we apply an even coat and let it cure. We do not rush it.

New concrete or older slabs that are still solid, sealing is smart and cheaper than replacing. Protect it before another winter does its damage. Call (701) 212-0827. We serve Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, and Sabin.

How it works

Simple, honest, done right

  1. 01

    Check the concrete

We look at your driveway or patio for cracks and surface damage. We confirm the slab is solid enough to seal.

  2. 02

    Clean and prep

We clean off dirt, oil, and old residue. Sealer only bonds to a clean surface, so this step matters.

  3. 03

    Apply the sealer

We put down an even coat of eco-friendly sealer. It soaks in and forms a barrier against water and salt.

  4. 04

    Let it cure

We give the sealer time to set before you use the surface. We tell you exactly when it is safe to drive or walk on.

Concrete Sealer questions

What is concrete spalling?

Spalling is when the top layer of concrete flakes, chips, and pits. It happens when water gets into the concrete, freezes, and pushes the surface apart. Our Fargo-Moorhead winters cause it through freeze-thaw cycles, and road salt makes it worse. Sealing keeps water and salt out, which stops spalling before it starts.

How often do I need to reseal?

Most driveways need resealing every two to three years here. Our harsh winters and road salt wear sealer down faster than mild climates. We can check your surface and tell you if it is time. Beading water is a good sign the sealer still works. When water soaks in, it is time to reseal.

Can you seal old concrete or just new?

We seal both. New concrete should be sealed once it has fully cured to protect it from day one. Older slabs that are still solid are great to seal too. It stops more damage and saves you from replacing them. If the concrete is already badly broken up, sealing will not fix it, and we will tell you that.

Is the sealer safe for my family and pets?

Yes. We use an eco-friendly sealer. Once it cures fully, the surface is safe for your kids, pets, and plants nearby. We let it cure the right amount of time and tell you exactly when it is safe to use. We do not rush this step just to finish faster.

Will sealing stop road salt damage?

It blocks most of it. Salt is hard on bare concrete because it soaks in and eats the surface. A good sealer forms a barrier so the salt cannot get a grip. Water and salt sit on top instead of soaking in. This protects your driveway through the winter when salt is everywhere.
